Accent chairs can be expensive. Interesting materials and a compelling design make for a great accent chair. Window shopping inspiration from NY brings the plywood chair as part of the AKRIS Window installation. I think this chair would work great as an accent even with the wood stamps still on it. I love the shape and the simple design. It would be great to lacquer the whole thing for safety purposes, throw on a simple, white cushion and put it somewhere near a shaggy, white rug.
Jun Murakoshi’s timber and plywood Shelving Chair functions as both a book shelf and a chair. When stacked together, the chairs create an unusual and chic shelving unit.

Thanks for comments on the Akris window in NYC. I’m the Visual Director and was inspired by our Fall 2009 advertising campaign. The chair was procured from the furniture designer @ http://www.ruckercorp.com
