Black walls are a huge trend. Do you know anyone who has actually implemented it in their own home? A modern way of pulling off a black and gold color scheme seems to be the fun, new frontier. Here are some examples. By the way I am still so in love with algue and this is a beautiful example of how to enjoy it in front of a non-working fireplace (from Apartment Therapy). And what do you think…is black and gold good for the club or good for the home?
I don’t know her but Anna at Door Sixteen has done amazing things with black.
It’s an attractive combination to be sure, but must be handled with extreme delicacy so as not to give off a certain flavor of gauche opulence. You asked home or club? Normally this combination at a club can be very tacky and/or dated. I like what they’ve done with the above pictures, very tasteful and appealing. As long as it doesn’t look like something you would find at the home of an Ayatollah, if you get my meaning.
