I spotted this one at Top Shop in NY in the mens section. If you love the look and don't fear the price tag, Savon sells them in white. A more colorful option comes from Reestore pictured here in green. What do you think? Is it chic or too eccentric?

This is a book case with a built in chair and stool. Do you see it? It is hard to pick out at first. The creator titled this piece shelflife.

I love this concept and the color of the book case. This picture is from Rachel Smith’s interior photographs portfolio. Here is the shelf in white with the chair pulled out. To get a sense of his vision you can read an interview with the designer. He also did a book shelf that hides a table and chair.

I love furniture that is multi-functional and helps you save on space. Remember the transfarmoire? And how about the pick-chair?

In light of the Transformers movie coming out at the end of the month, I wanted to share with you some easy to do yourself transformers. This kitchen in South Africa has a great mobile counter that swings around on wheels.

How easy would this be to make? This desk uses a similar idea, but rather than a swinging action, opens up by pulling the desk top and side piece out.

This next one is our own creation and we call it the “Transfarmoire.” It is an armoire that transforms into an editing studio for our film editing needs.

We used the second shelf that came with the armoire as the desk top piece, bought some wood at the hardware store for the legs, stained them the same color and attached the legs using swinging hinges. We bought an IKEA keyboard tray and drilled wholes to allow mobility of the tray. It’s great being able to put it all away and help keep the equipment dust free.

Do you have a hard time finding a great modern one? Have you seen the piazza sofa? It looks super cushy and cozy indeed. I don’t always love the day bed looking couches, but I am making an exception for this one. It looks like it keeps the shape of the lines well, rather than looking like a giant amorphous pillow. It will be interesting to find out how it holds up over time. I like the two different colors together. The white, long pillow adds a crispness to the overall look. The couch also comes in gray, but I don’t like it as much. I might like it more if the gray had a different color long pillow…like maybe off-white.
