Bookcase at Recyclart!

I stumbled on a cool new site. Well…it’s new for me and I love this bookcase made out of salvaged coffee tables and furniture pieces.

It reminds me of this other bookcase, but with a personality of its own. As I mentioned before I think this concept of cutting a piece in half can make for a lot of fun and inventive creations. In particular, the way these pieces are stacked and layered is innovative and fun.

I plan to keep an eye out for more great ideas at Recyclart.

Vintage Bathrooms – Blue and Pink!

Have you heard of the movement to Save The Pink Bathrooms? Check out pink bathroom picks on flickr. Retrorenovation gives props to the blue midcentury bathrooms with twenty two representations. Being an owner of a blue tub myself, I am delighted to see this punchy twist on the old blue. That red looks brilliant. I love this photo and the composition. It has a happy “Psycho” quality to it.

Site Stumble: Cool Dinnerware

Fishseddy is a cool new site I stumbled upon thanks to my friend Koren. Having browsed and window-shopped this online boutique, I have found lots to love about this site. For starters these vintage-esque storage bowls. They’re 4 for $15.00. I love the idea of leftovers in these guys.

And the Alice in Wonderland dinnerware set is whimsical, fun and has its own vintage flare.

I was drawn into the site by the “memo” collection of glasses, cups and cutting boards made to look like memo pads and lined paper. I am secretly lusting after the “memo ruled tray” and the “memo graph paper tray.” Click for a closer peak.

The “Little Red Riding Hood Glass” is a part of the Nursery Glassware collection which also includes “Little Boy Blue,” “Jack and Jill,” and “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” And the set is $22.00 for 4 glasses. Site Stumble – Feel More Human

I just stumbled upon Feel More Human and here are a bunch of pretty cool items all for under fifty bucks. Any of these would make for a pretty fun gift. They also have pretty cool kids stuff. I actually saw a set of bowls like the salt and pepper shakers pictured in the middle at Sacks Fifth Ave once and have been hoping to spot stuff from this company ever since. So I am doubly stoked to discover the site and find those modern loop dinnerware pieces.

And this is my new favorite dinnerware set. I love that the pieces are all different, yet they go together so wonderfully. And as always, I am a huge sucker for outdoor motifs.
